The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
June 23
Police talked to a resident who left trash outside on Kramer Avenue, and a bear got into it.
A caller said rabbits were running around the 1400 block of HPR, getting into gardens, and his garden might be next. He said the rabbits appear around 4:30 a.m., and make his dogs bark.
A resident complained about the driver of a black Honda Accord swerving, almost hitting a biker, striking a sidewalk, and going through a crosswalk with kids in it. Police stopped the driver, who said he didn’t recall the bike or the crosswalk, but had been messing with the radio and wasn’t aware he had been causing concern.
The animal control officer received a call about farm animals.
A bike found in a marshy area of the 1300 block of HPR was turned in. A message was left for the owner, who said her daughter had lost the bike and would pick it up.
At 12:57 p.m. the Raptor Center was called about a wounded eagle at Back Beach.
At 1 p.m. police warned a man acting strangely and with his pants around his ankles at Baranof and SMC that he would be taken into protective custody if more complaints were received.
At 1:07 p.m. a caller said two boys were harassing her and her friend. The caller’s mom talked to the boys and called their parents. The mother of one boy picked him up, and police talked to her.
A resident said his truck was keyed. The location of the incident was not given. Police documented the damage.
A resident said someone had broken her vehicle windshield on Lake Street. Police documented the damage.
A man reported losing a blue bag with his name on it and a book in it.
A set of keys found on a sidewalk was turned in.
A man said two of his bikes had been stolen. He was told one had been found next to Pioneers Park and was now in police storage for him to claim. The second bike, a Raleigh manufactured in England, was lost one or two months ago at the skate park.
A woman called at 5:45 p.m. asking for help finding her partner, who didn’t get back on the cruise ship as expected, and left a note saying he planned to get on a plane to Anchorage and end his life there. Officers found that the man had gone to Juneau, and asked Juneau officers to perform a welfare check on the man, which they did.
At 5:50 p.m. a man was reported arguing with his mother over personal belongings. Officers gave the mother a disorderly conduct warning. The two said they would try to work things out.
At 6:20 p.m. a caller complained a woman camping out with her dog on Eagle Beach ran off after the dog attacked the caller’s dog. No one was in the area when police checked.
A Samsung phone was found on Airport Road.
A woman said she found a license plate on her front porch on Lake Street. Police called the plate’s owner.
At 10 p.m. a woman said her son was expecting to receive a package from a delivery service, and it was delivered to the wrong address, two doors away. There was no answer when the woman went to the house, and she was concerned about retrieving the package. The renter was contacted, and put the package outside. Police then made the pickup and delivery.
June 24
At 1 a.m. police responded to a report of a fist fight downtown, but it was over before officers arrived. Police talked to one of the combatants but couldn’t find the second one.
Fireworks were heard at 2:15 a.m. near the police station.
At 2:37 a.m. a resident reported hearingh gunshots in the downtown area, but officers couldn’t find the source of the noise.
At 2:39 a.m. an intoxicated resident said he was “sucker punched” at a bar earlier, and was now in an argument with his “baby mama” who he would like removed from his home. He became upset with officers when they arrived, and wouldn’t talk to them.

Rudy J. Jones, 29, was charged Thursday with driving under the influence.
Darrin R. Hess, was arrested Thursday for criminal trespass in the second for allegedly going to ANB Harbor after receiving a criminal trespass warning.
Emergency Calls
The Sitka Police Department dispatched ambulances at 1:51 and 2:34 p.m. Thursday and 4:01 a.m. today.
