The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
Feb. 16
At 9:15 a.m. a caller said someone knocked at her door and told her that her truck had been struck in the 600 block of SMC, and that the other vehicle had left the area. Officers took a report on the incident.
A resident turned in a license plate that fell off a trailer.
At 11:30 a.m. a resident in the 600 block of SMC reported a man was making faces and throwing rocks into traffic lanes. Police talked to the man, and gave him a warning to stay away from a particular thrift shop.
An ambulance was called for a woman with shortness of breath.
A man who passed out at a laundromat was reported to have been aggressive to people trying to use the facility. He blew a breath test of .367 and was taken to the hospital.
A debit card was turned in, and the owner contacted to pick it up.
At 7:37 p.m. a loud boom was reported in the 1600 block of HPR. The caller said the noise shook her house. Police found a vehicle had backfired.
Feb. 17
Police investigated a report of a beeping sound at 12:24 a.m. on Herb Didrickson Street. It was determined to be coming from a vehicle, and a message was left for the owner.
At 6:22 a.m. a man was seen talking to himself in the foyer of a grocery store, which was starting to scare customers. The man had a rolling suitcase with him. Officers talked to the man.

Alexandra S. Oyler, 27, was arrested Thursday on a charge of driving under the influence.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 12:49 p.m., 1:26 p.m. and 2:38 p.m. Thursday.
At 12:46 p.m. Thursday a fire truck was sent to 222 Tongass Drive to investigate a chemical smell. It turned out to be a chemical used in maintenance work on a hot water system, the fire hall said.
