Women’s Book
Group to Meet
The Women’s Book Group will discuss ‘‘Ada Blackjack: A True Story of Survival in the Arctic’’ by Jennifer Niven at the Pioneers Home Chapel 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11.
Women are invited to participate. Those with questions can call Dorothy at 747-3412.
Barn Dance Set
A community barn dance will be 7 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Odess Theater at Allen Hall on the SJ Campus.
Participate in mixers, circles and contra dances, or listen to the live music of Sitka’s Fishing for Cats band. Beginners and seasoned dancers of all ages are invited. Participants should take clean shoes. A $5 donation is requested.
Dances are taught and called. No partner is needed and no dancing experience is necessary. The first hour will be geared to beginners and young dancers.

Graduation Party
Planning on Tap
Parents of Sitka High seniors will hold a graduation planning meeting 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in room 109 at Blatchley Middle School.
Parents are asked to park in the back parking lot and enter through the lower doors near AC Lakeside.

Quilters Event for
Sitka Art Walk
Sitka’s Ocean Wave Quilters guild invites all to its Meet the Models, Quilters and Producer event for its newly published Alaska’s Undercover Men calendar during Sitka’s Art Walk, 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, in the former Homeport Eatery space at the corner of Lincoln and American streets.
Second edition calendars will be available and attendees may have them autographed. Refreshments will be served.
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.
A spokesman for the group said, “We hope everyone will stop by, have a bite and admire the calendar’s awesome stars and quilts in person.”
