Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
November 7
At 7:32 a.m. a resident received a “fall alert” from his father’s AppleWatch, indicating it had called emergency services, and the resident was unable to reach his dad. The father turned out to be fine, but was having a problem with his phone.
A black wallet with ID was found in the Baranof Street roadway. Police were unable to reach the owner.
A business manager signed a criminal trespass notice to keep a person away from a Granite Creek business.
A girl ran away from her guardian’s home but returned a few hours later.
At 3:55 p.m. a bus driver reported a driver tried to pass while kids were getting off the bus at Baranof and SMC.
At 4:19 p.m. a driver complained a jogger with a stroller was in the road and crossed the street. She called later to update police on the jogger’s location in the roundabout, and said the jogger was still in the road.
At 5:07 p.m. a man stopped by with a container of “goo,” saying he believed it had been left by someone watching him coming and going from his home. Police were advised.
At 9:33 p.m. police checked on a suspicious vehicle on Kramer Avenue. Police noted that the driver and other operators had been warned not to drive with an expired registration. A criminal trespass warning was given to one of the occupants, related to a call earlier that day. Leahna Bagley, 37, was cited for expired registration and failing to have proof of insurance. A warning was given for bald tires.
At 10:10 p.m. a caller said a vehicle was on Granite Creek Road.It was gone when police arrived, although there were conflicting reports on the type of vehicle it was.
At 11:22 p.m. a store owner reported a switchblade style knife was stolen from a downtown business.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 10:11 a.m., 2:29 p.m. and 11:17 p.m. Thursday.
At 2:13 p.m. Thursday a fire truck was sent to 208 Smith Street on a false alarm.
