The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
Aug. 19
At 9:13 a.m. a caller asked police to check up on an employee who hadn’t shown up for work. Officers got no phone response from the employee.
Keys with wedding rings attached were reported lost.
A bike was found at Indian River and Kaasda Heen.
A woman said her son’s wire-rimmed glasses had been lost the night before at Moller field.
At 2:42 p.m. a caller said a kitten had gotten out of a vehicle at 404 Lake Street and run away. Later, the caller reported the kitten had been found.
At 2:46 p.m. a caller said neighbors were harassing her family.
A teal Trek bike with a Schwinn seat was found abandoned in the 3400 block of HPR.
At 6:15 p.m. a caller said a woman had fallen into the water at Thomsen Harbor. She was taken to the hospital.
A man reported an iPhone with a blue flame and rhinestone case had been lost. It was last seen the night before in the Mills Street neighborhood.
At 8 p.m. a caller said young children, none older than 10, were playing on the rocks by the water in the 3400 block of HPR, without adult supervision. When officers arrived, the children were playing near the road. Officers advised them to stay out of traffic, and noted the children didn’t seem to need supervision.
Aug. 20
At 12:40 a.m. a caller said he hadn’t heard from a fellow taxi driver for more than two hours. Officers located the taxi, and the caller said the driver had just called him, and all was fine.
At 6:16 a.m. a caller said she had seen smoke as she walked along the Gavan Hill trail. An officer talked to a couple trying to get a fire started. They agreed to put out the fire and move on.

Janet T. Joseph, 36, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a revoked license early this morning.
In Court
A charge of theft in the second degree filed against Joseph R. Revard, 57, was dismissed without prejudice.
Aaron Michael Gallahorn, 22, on a charge of theft in the third degree pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 80 days with 60 suspended, with 18 days to be served through 144 hours of community work service. He also was fined $2,000, suspended. Charges of theft in the second degree and theft in the second degree, fraudulent use of an access device, were dismissed.
Michael Dylan Ragusa, 25, was found to have violated conditions of probation on a charge of reckless endangerment, and was ordered to serve five days in jail or 40 hours of community work service.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched an ambulance at 6:18 p.m. Tuesday.
