Police checked on a girl who hadn’t been at school lately. It was found she had gone to Juneau following a family tragedy.
Officers served two domestic violence orders.

At 9:18 p.m. a taxi driver said a passenger was refusing to pay. Police said they would pursue a theft of services charge against the passenger, who apparently fled from the area.
At 9:59 p.m. a caller reported the Katlian/HPR traffic light was not functioning properly.
At 11:59 p.m. police checked on a vehicle with flashing hazard lights on Harbor Mountain Road. The driver and passenger in the vehicle said they were looking for an injured deer. Police noted an open container, which turned out to be soda, and joined in the unsuccessful search for the injured deer.
Sept. 13
At 12:12 a.m. a noisy group of boys was reported in the Andrews Street area. Officers found no such group.
At 12:58 a.m. officers checked on a man reported to be passed out in back of a building in the 300 block of Lincoln Street. The man was sitting up when they arrived, and was deemed able to care for himself.
At 1:43 a.m. a bartender asked police to deal with a woman who refused to leave a bar when asked to do so. Police issued a criminal trespass warning.
At 2:41 a.m. 911 caller reported a heated domestic argument on Lance Drive. The residents said it had been a dispute between a man and his sister-in-law, who had since left the home.
Police are investigating a report of drug abuse.
A resident asked to sign a criminal trespass form against someone.
At 4 p.m. police checked on a report that a man and woman were loitering in some restrooms on Lincoln Street. Officers asked them to leave.
At 5:34 p.m. a caller reported young children were attending a bonfire on Mills Street. Police talked to their parents, who were attending the construction debris fire.
A small, silver coin purse with credit cards and ID was turned in.
At 10:11 p.m. a caller asked police to document an incident that occurred at his parents’ home.
At 11:42 p.m. an ambulance was called for a man passed out on some steps in the 200 block of Katlian Street.
Sept. 14
At 2:37 a.m. police saw a woman passed out in front of a bar. She went home in a taxi, officers reported.
At 5:44 a.m. police gave a disorderly conduct warning to a woman who was throwing dishes at her boyfriend’s truck. She was advised that she could be charged with criminal mischief if her boyfriend filed a complaint.
At 11:28 a.m. a caller said a man who had received a criminal trespass warning to stay away from an agency had returned, and acted in an agitated manner before driving off.
A child’s pink bike helmet was turned in to police.
Sept. 15
At 12:46 a.m. a caller said a man was “boat hopping” and stealing items off boats in Crescent Harbor. The resident said she saw the man get off her boat, but was unable to provide a description. She told police that she believes the man is using a raft to get around the harbor. Police were unable to locate him in the area.
At 1:59 a.m. a caller reported a woman was sleeping in someone’s truck. The woman told police she was waiting for a friend who was going to give her a ride home after work.

A Sitka grand jury on Friday indicted Micah W. Nelson, 23, on a charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony. He was alleged to have possessed methamphetamine on Sept. 3. He was arraigned on Friday, and he is being held on $15,000 bail.

 Emergency Calls
The Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 5:58 and 10:59 p.m. Friday; and 11:50 p.m. Saturday.
At 10:15 a.m. Friday a fire department vehicle and the public works department were sent to 252 Kaagwaantaan Street on a report of a fuel leak. Assistant Fire Chief Al Stevens said he and others believe the source was the old tank farms above the street, and that the heavy rains had caused them to overflow. The city had already hired a contractor to remove the tanks, he said. Fire crews put down kitty litter and other absorbent materials to mop up the spill. “We will keep monitoring it,” Stevens said.
At 9:36 a.m. Saturday a fire truck was sent to 200 Flume Circle after cooking activities set off the alarm. There was no fire, Stevens said.
At 1:34 p.m. Sunday a fire truck was sent to 1805 HPR after an alarm went off, but it turned out to be a sewer lift alarm. The emergency was handled by the building maintenance crew for the condo complex, Stevens said.
