The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
Nov. 19
A caller in Seward said her credit card was being used in Sitka, but then told a Sitka officer she had forgotten she had given it to her granddaughter.
A woman said chickens from Verstovia Avenue were running at large in her yard on Charles Street.
A bike left in the plant bed at St. Michael’s was taken to the police station.
At 1:20 p.m. a traffic accident was reported in the 1200 block of SMC.
Nov. 20
At 12:32 a.m. a caller said someone had apparently been in her home in the 600 block of Etolin St., and a bag with her wallet, credit cards and a checkbook were missing. She had been sleeping and didn’t wake up until the door was closed, she said. (Story on page 1.)
Four vehicles at Eliason Harbor were cited for expired registrations.
At 3:54 a.m. a woman reported a possible burglary at her home on DeArmond Street. She said when she and her husband awoke around 2 a.m. she saw a small cabinet had been gone through and her purse, containing her wallet with credit cards and cigarettes, was stolen. (Story on page 1.)
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched an ambulance at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday.
In Court
A charge of refusing to submit to a chemical test filed against Denise R. Berkeley-Salter was dismissed without prejudice.
A charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the sixth degree filed against Eric C. Vanveen, 42, was dismissed without prejudice.
The following cases were closed, judgment of convictions set aside and defendants discharged after probation expired without sentences imposed: William Patrick, 20, minor consuming; Crystal Ruth McNeilly, 18, minor consuming; Joseph J.P. Peratrovich, 22, theft in the third degree; and Thomas Edward Thompson, 39, disorderly conduct.
