A resident reported losing a set of keys on a keychain with a sea otter fuzz ball.
At 1:33 p.m. two men were reported fighting. They told officers they didn’t want to pursue charges. Both received disorderly conduct warnings.
At 1:58 p.m. an intoxicated man was reported staggering down the 500 block of Lincoln Street.
A domestic violence order was given to police to serve.
A woman said her cloth purse with mermaids on the front was stolen from a bar Saturday night. Inside were an expired military ID, and loose change.
At 5:25 p.m. a man was reported passed out outside the Eliason Harbor restrooms. Police determined he was able to care for himself, and he told police he would head home.
At 5:32 p.m. a woman reported a yellow Lab was following her in the 1700 block of Edgecumbe Drive. She said she was calling in case the owner was looking for it.
March 20
At 12:47 a.m. an intoxicated man was reported sitting in the dark in the deli section of a grocery store, something he had done for several nights in a row. Officers found he was able to care for himself and he agreed to leave.
At 4:45 a.m. an Andrews Street resident said a man was sitting on her patio furniture and moving it around. She said it wasn’t the first time the man had done this. He was gone when officers checked.
At 4:48 a.m. a man from out of town asked for help finding his girlfriend, who was working in a fish plant in Sitka. He said he didn’t know which fish plant, or where she was living, and he hadn’t spoken to her in two days. Police left a message for her on her phone.

Eddy K. Smith, 50, was arrested for criminal trespass in the second degree, after he allegedly returned to the harbor he had been told to stay away from.
Emergency Calls
The Sitka Fire Department dispatched an ambulance at 2:14 p.m. Thursday.

Michael Stringer, environmental specialist for Sitka Tribe of Alaska and a founder of the community garden, takes the concept of Earth Week literally. This weekend he hopes others will share his appreciation for “earth” and things growing in it by joining him in preparing the community garden just behind Blatchley Middle School for another growing season.
