LUTHERAN QUILTERS – Members of the Quilts for Comfort Group stand between pews draped with some of the 205 quilts they made, in the Sitka Lutheran Church Tuesday. Police Blotter
The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
July 27
A black key to a Saturn was turned in from the 200 block of Harbor Drive.
While tagging cars for towing in the 2200 block of SMC, police found a woman trespassing on a property she had been warned to stay away from, and took her into custody, officers said.
A store in the 900 block of HPR turned in keys and IDs left at the store over the past month.
Police investigated a possible violation of release at Starrigavan.
At 11:36 p.m. a caller said kids were setting off fireworks and throwing them in the road in the 600 block of SMC. Another caller said the kids threw a firework at her windshield.
July 28
At 12:17 a.m. an intoxicated woman was reported getting into a vehicle and driving to the 1200 block of SMC.
At 12:50 a.m. a man sleeping in his vehicle on Harbor Mountain Road was told he needed to park elsewhere.
At 4:11 a.m. told people reported being loud in the 2800 block of HPR they could be arrested if officers were called back to the residence.

June A. Mukpik, 34, was arrested for criminal trespass in the second degree and two counts of violating conditions of release.
In Court
Lucas D. Crane, 24, was sentenced to 100 days, with 80 suspended, and fined $4,000, with $1,000 suspended, for driving under the influence. He is to complete treatment, and his license will be revoked for a year. He will be on probation for three years.
Quentin M. White, 19, was given a suspended imposition of sentence for theft in the second degree. Police said that on Dec. 23 he stole a DVD binder with PlayStation 3 games, DVDs and Blu Ray disks, and personal computer games worth between $750 and $25,000. He is to serve 60 days, and is to have no contact with the victim. Dismissed were 15 counts of violating conditions of release, minor drinking and driving, minor consuming, misconduct involving a controlled substance in the sixth degree, and theft in the second, third and fourth degrees.
Emergency Calls
The Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 10:50 a.m. and 4:39 p.m. Monday.
