Services Set For Kenneth Creamer, Longtime Sitkan

Kenneth Creamer, a longtime Sitka resident, died April 18, 2021, in Nampa, Idaho, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 82.

Ken was born October 16, 1938, in Tacoma, Washington, and moved to Alaska as a young adult. He lived in Kodiak, Juneau, Dutch Harbor and Sitka during his years in Alaska. He met his wife, Norma, and her son Duane,  in Kodiak, and he and Norma were married there.

Ken lived a fulfilled life not only as a husband, father and grandpa, but held several leadership positions as a member of the Alaska State Troopers and U.S. Marine Corps, and an employee of the National Marine Fisheries.

Ken was a proud and active member of the Masonic Lodge; he was a Scottish Rite Mason for nearly 40 years, a Knight of the Royal Order of Scotland, and a member of Mt. Verstovia Lodge #18 in Sitka, as well as an active member of the Valley of Juneau Masonic Lodge.

Ken also was a member of the Sitka Elks Lodge, and served on the Sitka Police and Fire Commission and the Sitka Port and Harbors Commission for many years.

Ken will be remembered and missed by his wife, Norma Creamer, son Duane Seehafer (Laurie), granddaughters Nicole and Erika, and many other family members and lifelong friends.

Ken was a proud and witty man who always had a good joke and liked to keep everyone laughing. He will be missed greatly and will never be forgotten, his family said.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. June 18, 2021, at Sitka National Cemetery, with a celebration of life to follow at Pioneer Park.
