Walter Wehling, 86, Dies; Owned Wehl Built Boats

Walter Wehling, 86, of Englewood, Florida, passed away peacefully June 5, 2021, at home, with his wife Elaine and daughter Lynda at his side.

Walter was owner of Wehl Built Boats in Sitka, and serviced them here and in Fairbanks for many years, in the 1990s and into the 2000s.

Walter was born September 1934 to  Effie Partridge and Bill Felton of Buffalo, New York.

He lived a full and fulfilling life and had many adventures. He had boundless energy, everyone was his friend, and he had the gift of gab, his family said.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and Leslie, and sisters, Lynette and Ethel.

Surviving are his wife Elaine of 33 years; children Gary Wehling of Arcadia, Florida, Dawn Wehling of Englewood, Lynda Lee (Michael) of Seattle, Washington, Debra Martin (Jack) of Apopka, Florida, Kennith Wehling of Apopka, and Damon Wehling (Athena) and Ty Wehling, both of Nenana, Alaska.

Walter and Elaine enjoyed time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Nicole and Kyle, Cassie and Chris of Apopka; and Kerry, Megan, Jessie and Logan of Fairbanks.

Great-grandchildren are Damon, Kylie, Elaina, Ophelia, Clarisse, Miloh and William, James, Rodney and Lewis.
