LUTHERAN QUILTERS – Members of the Quilts for Comfort Group stand between pews draped with some of the 205 quilts they made, in the Sitka Lutheran Church Tuesday. The group made the quilts for five local non-profits and one in Anchorage. National Park
Trails are Open
All trails in the Sitka National Historical Park are open. Trail hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. through May 14.
No bear activity has been observed since 4:41 a.m. Dec. 6.
After 8 p.m., pedestrians may pass through the section of trail between Sawmill Creek Road, over the Indian River footbridge, and to or from the upper visitor center parking lot, but may not loiter. All other portions of the trail system and grounds are closed before and after grounds hours.
Visitors should continue to be bear aware, as bears may be present at any time in the park.
