Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
September 20
At 2:06 a.m. a traffic accident was reported in the 200 block of Smith Street. A driver had lost control and struck a black trash can then a parked vehicle. The accident is under investigation.
At 9:38 a.m. contact was made with a citizen on Seward Avenue.
At 10 a.m. a citizen was assisted on Baranof Street.
At 10:37 a.m. an animal call came in from Peterson Street and HPR.
At noon a citizen was contacted in the 300 block of Katlian.
At 1:10 p.m. a citizen was contacted at Shelikof Way and HPR.
Vehicles in the 4500 block of HPR and on Seward Avenue and Airport Road were tagged as abandoned following complaints.
A traffic offense and citizen contact were logged at 4:54 in the 1200 block of SMC.
At 5:53 p.m. a found property call came in from the Raptor Center.
Sitka Police
Alycia Kadake, 26, was charged Tuesday with trespassing in the first degree.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received two ambulance calls Tuesday.

Michael Stringer, environmental specialist for Sitka Tribe of Alaska and a founder of the community garden, takes the concept of Earth Week literally. This weekend he hopes others will share his appreciation for “earth” and things growing in it by joining him in preparing the community garden just behind Blatchley Middle School for another growing season.
