The following calls were logged as of 8 a.m. today.
May 24
At 4:24 a.m. a man was reported causing a disturbance at the hospital. The hospital wanted him to leave, and he left.
At 7:54 a.m. a caller reported being behind an erratic driver in the 1500 block of SMC. The driver’s license was revoked.
A civil dispute over a bicycle was reported. It’s being investigated.
A Ford key on a fob was turned in at the police station.
A theft at a store in the 200 block of Lincoln Street is being investigated.
At 5:07 p.m. a caller said he’d been threatened. He was advised of his options and told he could get a protective order.
At 5:27 p.m. a caller said a driver was swerving in the 600 block of SMC. Police talked to the driver, and gave a verbal warning about the lack of an Alaska driver’s license and license plates.

At 1 a.m. a caller reported a boy being assaulted by a relative. An investigation is underway.

Sitka Tribe of Alaska is “upset and disturbed” about the Senate appropriations bill that cuts spending for Alaska tribal courts, STA Vice Chairman Gil Truitt said today. He was referring to Sen. Ted Stevens’ move to divert Department of Justice grants from tribal courts and tribal police officers to fund the Village Public Safety Officer program.
